P.M.A.’s YEAR NET SURPLUS £35,641 The New Zealand Co-onerat-ive Pig Marketing Association Limited and its subsidiaries report a record turnover for the fifteenth year of their operation of £1,700,000 or an increase on that for the previous year of over £IOO,OOO. Altogether, the company received on consignment from its shareholders and suppliers 466,256 head of livestock, or 39,350 head more than were handled the previous year. ;The' accounts show that' after providing for the final payment on hobby calves and cattle a net surplus of £35,641 remains for a final distribution on pigs received. The company’s -subscribed capital now stands at £99,900 of which the amount paid up is £79,890. It is of interest to note that the company’s annual report discloses that since the company’s reconstruction in 1932 it has handled co-operatively for its suppliers a total of 1,721,832 pigs, 3.550,000 bobby calves; and in more recent years some 52,000 head of cattle were also handled.
