GIFT EVENING
MISS AILEEN EVANS .GEO FUNCTION A kitchen tea gift evening-, arranged by trie Otakeho branch of the Women's Division of Fedcrated. Farmers in honour of Miss Aileen Evans, a junior member and Mr. J. Simpson, who are to be married shortly was held in the Oeo Hall last week. Shoulder sprays and buttonholes were presented to the guests and all members of their families. Mrs. Walker presented the gifts. Mr. B. E'. Mason, president of the Oeo Tennis Club also, presented the guests with a hanging mirror on behalf of the club, of which they are both foundation members. Mr. R. Hughes, president of the Oeo Social Club, presented Miss Evan s and Mr. Simpson with a picture on behalf of . the club, of which they are also foundation i:iembers; Mr. Simpson suitably replied. ■• i Mr. G. Eliason was M.C. Extras were played bv Misses Mary Whalen and M. MacAleese, and Messrs. Mait Whalen and W. Evans. Monte carlos were won by Mrs. W. Evans and Mr. A. Hughes, and Mrs. W. Evans and Mr. .A. A>.-Masters. Items were M'iven bv the following: Miss Glenys Ross, vocal solo; Miss Wilma Marr, sailors' hornpipe ;md slow tap dance; Misses Pauline and Dora Mitchell, elocuiionary items.
