SPLENDID PROGRAMME HORSE EVENTS With no Rugby counter attractions in Opunake tomorrow, the Annual Pihama Gala Day should cUaw a record attendance this y far, especially in view of the fine programme, which includes ill' horse events, a full national Dancing programme, Novelty events, senior, junior and school basketball and a primary school rugby 7-a-side tournament. , Tl{e main .horse events include the Pihama Champion leap for a prize of £b 5-0. a Steeplechase Style Jump, a flat race for Hacks flat have not raced at any totalizator meeting, and pony and hack events for Boys, Girls, Ladies and Gentlemen riders. The usual side-shows and stalls will also be popular, and the Auroa Pipe Band will be in attendance. All sideshows will be controlled by the St. John Amtulance Opunake, and it will be readily agreed that the proceeds could go to no better cause--Funds. A dance has been arranged for the evening and will he held in the Pihama Hall. All particulars are advertised in this issue.
