Home on Leave. — Advice lias been received by Mrs. T. Shegedin that her son, Stoker D. Shegedin, N.Z. Division Royal Navy, who has been on active service overseas has returned to New Zealand on leave, and it is expected that he wil] arrive at Opunake tomorrow. Examinations Passed. —

Notice to the effect that they were successful in the recent preliminary Air Force examinations have been 'received by Mr. M. Barraelongh and Mr. George Tin die of Opunake, and they are now eligible for posting to camp to undergo training for a pilots’ course. The examination was held following a correspondence course arranged by the Air Department and the successful candidates were also pupils of the classes conducted by Mr. R. S. Mafttin.
