PRESBYTERIAN LADIES
MEETING OF GUILD LARGE SUM RAISED The annual meeting of the Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild was held in the Manse on Thursday las.t when the Rev. G. Wood pipsided, members present being Aiesdames Lusk (2), C'louston, Malcolm, Byars, O’Sullivan, Wallis, Watt and Wood. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Strong© and Mann.
The report showed that tho Guild has functioned for 15 years and the good work had continued. On August 8, the ladies assisted with the tea for the Sunday School. The annual fair was held in October, and the Guild handed over to the Church funds £2l-10/7 from this source. The Rev. J. Paterson and Mr. C. A. Day of Stratford supplied an enjoyable programme. A Harvest Thanksgiving supper held on March 20 netted £5-14/- which was used to purchase six new choir chairs and church cleaning equipment.
The ladies attend to the floral decorations of the church and pay the caretaker also for scrubbing out as required. To raise the funds necessary to carry on the wqrk, a series of house parties are to be held, Mrs. J. P. O’Sullivan offerin'? her home for the first on July 3. The members were warm I v thanked for their invaluable ser- [ ' T ice and. help in assistin'? in the work of the church, which was dependent to a large extent upon their efforts, which had been exceedingly successful.
