Painting of Church. — In this issue, alternative tenders are invited for the painting and renovation of St. Barnabas’ Church or for painting only. The vicar will receive tenders up to 8 p.m. on March 8.
Public Trustee’s Visit. — Residents of town and country having business with the Public Trust Office-will have the opportunity of meeting the District Public Trustee on Monday next, February 27. Present and intending clients will be interviewed at the Power Board Office between the hours of 12.30 and 3.30 p.m.
Wanganui Excursion.— On Sunday, March 5, the West Coast (N.L) Surf Life Saving- Championships will bo held at Castlecliff Beach, Wanganui. A splendid opportunity is offered local residents to witness Die finals on Sunday afteroon. The Railways Department has arranged a popular excursion to Wanganui for this day. Particulars will ho found in our advertising columns in this issue. Photo Finishes. — All of the modern devices which enable judges in the principal sports fixtures of the world to make close decisions, would have been of no. avail at the special meeting- at the Domain on Wednesday when, in the 75 yards event for High School girls, three competitors finished in line. Eve?) a camera, the judges state, would have been uuable to show any competitor in the lead, and the judges could not separate the runners..
