ANOTHER LARGE CROWD
BEACH ATTENDANCE
SURF CHAMPS. ATTRACT
Aggregate attendances at the beach for the current season aro rapidly climbing to a level of mammoth proportions, and it seems hardly likely that records in this, connection will not go by the board when the final tallies are made. On Sunday, without the benefit of excursion trains, which usually can be relied upon to introduce at least 1000 visitors from far afield, paying patrons fqr the surf championships numbered iu the vicinity of 1300. and the crowd was estimated to be 3000.
Again there was a large number of cars, gathered on the beach. and parking facilities proved to be sufficient to meet the demand. Automobile Association officers directed the parkin a- of nearly 500 vehicles on the beach, and some 200 owners preferred the vantage point offered bv the cliff -top. Beach facilities were in strong demand, but these were not ever-taxed, the wisdom of the. Seaside Society in inn kin q' amnio provision for such occasions bein g fullv demonstrated. While, in view of th/' fact that no eharffp is made for the use of the bathing-sheds. it is difficult to make an accurate estimate of the number of patrons who avail themselves of this facility, the number was considerable.
