SURF CLUB DANCE
AT PIHAMA TUESDAY FREE BUS TO RUN An event that is always looked forward to with great delight is the annual Surf Club dance which is to take place in the Pihama Hall on Tuesday evening. The function was booked up for Opunaket some months ago, but the Town Hall fire upset the arrangements made and members of the club are anxious to recoup their losses by having a packed hall. We do not anticipate 1 ! that they will regret carrying on at Pihama for all reports are to the effect that A record crowd will be present from all parts of Taranaki and the committee is making arrangements to cater for a full house.
The music will be provided by Hooker’s Merrymakers’ Orchestra, who have a fine programme ready which should please everyone. All the latest hits will he put over in their usual snappy style. Novelties of various kinds will serve to keep the crowd in a gay mood hud the function should be a great success. A free bus will leave Opunake at 7.45 and those wishing to travel on it are advised to arrive early to make sure of a seat.
Supper arrangements are in good hands and no stone is being left unturned to make this event as popular as ever.
