MEETING OF COMMITTEE THE CUMING FIXTURE Messrs A. Good, E. S. Forsyth, J. Young, J. P. Burton, A. H. Stevenson, G. Hmmond, H. Young, F. Julian, S. J. Richards, G. Barr Brown, and J. Hickey were present at a committee meeting held to frame a programme for the annual meeting to be held on March ITth.
The stake money has been increased, and a Hack Cup, with a trophy for the winner, included. The following is the order of events: —
1. High-Weight Handicap—9 furlonsg. 80 sovs. 2. St. Patrick’s Handicap —6 furlongs. 9U sovs. 8. Maiden Race—6 furlongs. 60 sovs.
4. Railway Handicap—G] furlongs. 70 sovs. 5. Opuuake Cup—lf miles. 140 sovs. 0. Electric Handicap—s furlongs. 7. President's Hack Handicap —9 furlongs. 105 sovs. (Cup valued £25 to winner). Farewell Handicap—G furlongs. 70 sovs. All of last year's honorary and paid racing officials were re-ap-pointed including C. H. Washer, judge; H. Coyle, handcapper, and A. Morst, starter. It was decided to revert to the old system of dealing with the investments on the totalisator. Dividends will be paid on the first and second horses in the proportions of 75 per cent and 25 per cent. The Racing Conference will be asked to grant permission for the paying of the second dividend on a field of five or more starters:
Applications for The publican’s booth privileges are to be invited shortly and the catering conditions altered so as to provide" for a light luncheon at 1/6 and a counter lunch for 1/- only. The usual special race trains will be applied for.
