A HUGE SUCCESS. LARGE ATTENDANCE. Tho complimentary social hold m the St. Patrick’s Hall last Wednesday night was a great success and judging by the. many remarks passed everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The object of tho committee in arranging this function was to show their appreciation of the very tine work of the ladies’ committee at the recent ball. The hall was crowded with a gay throng and Henderson’s Dance Orchestra was heard at its host, numerous recalls being demanded and cheerfully responded to. The duties of M.C. were in the hands of Mr. J. Hooker who carried out this work in a capable manner. Extras were played by Mr. Stewart Gordon. During the evening several competitions were organised, the onfries in each case being very large. The winners were as follow: I/eap Year “Excuse Me” Monte Carlo, Miss (kindy and Mr. J. Burton; Monte Carlo wait/.. Miss Candy and Mr. J. Burton; lucky spot fox trot, Miss J. Hickman and Mr. G, Clegg: Second Monte Carlo, Miss A. Bowater and Mr. J. Woolford. The committee responsible for the evening’s enjoyment were Messrs Hooker, Brooder, Clare, Bowman, Griffin Macks, Wool ford, Hooper and Candy.
The ladies again did much to assist in arranging for the large attendance, and everything went along smoothly.
