WON BY LOVELL. \ _____ The annual round-the-mountain race took place on Saturday, the ■j)acting and finishing point being - w Plymouth, the course being 1 ' i/punake, Eltham and Stratford, ■ •}':, of 105 miles. A large •■'-< j- enthusiasts assembled to ■■"••• th, iiders pass througn Opu..aku, tijy (itst, Owens and Lovell, reaching here a few minutes after noon. As usual, Wally Gunson, an ex-cyclist of repute, arranged for the supply of creature comforts for competitors, hot milk being served those who pulled up. The refreshment station was located at the corner of the Main and Eltham Roads. The race was won by K Lovell, with D Owen second, while Crutchley (Wanganui) registered the fastest time—s hours 6 mins 35 sec —a record for the race.
