National Dairy Show.
The seventn National Dairy Show was opened by Mr Buick, M.P., in the unavoidable absence of the Minister for Agriculture. The weather was perfeot and there was a splendid attendance of the public. / In his remarks on the butter exhibits Mr Caddie, Dairy Commissioner, said the quality was equal to previous years but there was a tendanoy to overdo the use of preservatives. , The Wanganui Dairy Company scored 95 points with its successful entry. Makino won the N'.Z. Factory Managers' Championship, Whenuakura pecond. Rongokokako (near Eketahuna) was first for full creamcolored cheese, Taratahi and Belvedere tying for second, and Lowgarth third. Waikouaiti was first in the same class of white cheese, Belvedere being Eeoond. Greytown and Featherston were first and second for the best oase of cheese, any color; Cardiff and Omimi were first and second in fully matured class. Waikouaiti was first for loaf oheese, and Dalefield first in the speoiai olass for two large oheeees. At the annual meeting of the National Dairy Association, it was decided to increase the directorate to seven. It was stated that the year's work was the most profitable in the history of the Association. Messrs McFarlane and Fisher were re-eleoted to the directorate. It was decided to recommend factories to adopt a uniform size in oheese orates, that suggested being a head of 16 inohes and | length ef the batten 27 inches.
