Musical Examination.

Professor Mistowski, of Trinity College, London, arrived per New Plymouth coach yesterday, and proceeded at once to hold the practical examination in music. Five candidates were entered, but only four presented themselves for examination, the remaining candidate, on account of other duties, was prevented from attending. The thanks of the committee, the teachers, and candidates are due to Mrs A. O'Brien, who kindly gave the U 36 of her drawing room and piano for the purpose of holding the examination. Professor Mistovski left by the Hawera coach this morning. The following is the result of examination : Senior Divisiou : Helen Middleton, 64 marks (pass); Intermediate Division : Maud A. Middleton, 71 marks (pass); Junior Division : Kate MaoReynolds, 80 marks (honors), Olive Fischer, 75 marks (pass).
