TE KIRI.
- (from our own correspondent). The Te Kiri footballers’ plain and fancy dress ball was held last Tuesday evening. Owing probably to the uncertain weather, the attendance was not very good, but those who did come were well repaid for their trouble. The flooor, the music (by Miss Dickson), and the supper (under the direction of Mrs Thomas) were all of the best, Mr G. Thomas made a capable M.C. The principal fancy dresses were Mrs Briggs, “ Schoolgirl ; Mrs Conway, “ Sweet Fifteen”; Mrs J. Coombridge, “ School-girl ” ; Miss Larsen, “ Queen of Hearts ” ; Mr G. Thomas, “Clown”; Mr J. Coombridge, “Cowboy”; Mr H. Graham, “ Jockey.” During the evening Mr J. Barlow, of the Pihama Football Club, presented Mr J. Stockman, captain of Te Kiri Club, with the banner won this season.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Oddfellows’ Lodge was held last night (Wednesday) when there was a fair attendance of members. Bro. P. Tiudie was unanimously elected E.S.
