Assembly Ball.

The wind-up of Mrs Cassidy and Mr Humphries dancing class was celebrated by a ball ia the Town hall on Friday evening, there being over GO couples present, and it proved one of the most successful dances of the season. A lot of trouble had been gone to in order to get the floor into such good dancing order as it was. The room presented a very attractive appearance, being decorated with ferns and other greens, and on the walls were huge colored fans, while from the ceiling hung a variety of Chinese lanterns. The credit of the tasteful decoration is due to some of the ladies who have been attending the class. Very good music was supplied by Mr Hurapries (piano), Messrs McNeil Bros, and Martin (violins), and Mr R. Guy (cornet), while extras were played by Miss Humphries and Miss Des Forges. Tire ladies had provided ample refreshments of first-class order, which wore handed round tire room. There were a number of very nice drosses worn, and the honors of belle were divided by Miss Cassidy and Miss Swaysland, Mr Humphries thanked those present (on behalf of himself and Mrs Cassidy) for the mauner in which the young people had stuck to the class, and trusted they had been pleased with it and that they were enjoying the final dance. The duties of M.O. were ably carried out by Mr Des Forges.
