Pihama Co-operative Factory.

Before opening the above factory for its ordinary business it was resolved to hold a social to inaugurate its establishment on October 12th. Mr D. Henlhy was appointed Hon Sec. and he, as well as all those who took part in it, must be congratulated on the great success it turned out. There were nearly 200 persons present, who all thoroughly enjoyed themselves' Dancing was tire chief enjoyment provided, and Messrs Herilhy, Dickson, Markham, H. Foasyth, and O’Hanlon provided the music, which was fully appreciated. During the evening Miss Dickson contributed a song in a very pleasing manner, Mr O’Hanlon also sang in good style “ Father O’Flynn,” and Mr Claris gave a recitatatiou. Refreshments were handed round on a liberal scale and were done full justice to. The floors were in capital order for dancing, which was kept up with vigor until an early hour.
