Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report. Auckland, January 14. Cattle—Considering the season a good many of all descriptions have been brought forward, and found purchasers without noteworthy alteration in values. There was a fair muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, and a large one on Wednesday, at Papakura. At both sales the competition was good, and values were fully maintained. We quote—Ox beef, 17s to 19s 1001 b; cow, 16s to 17s; steers ranged from £4 15s to £7 15s ; fat cows, 57s 6d to £6 5s ; springers, £8 to £5 17s 6d ; dry cows, 80s to 455. Sheep were less numerous than usual, and in steady demand. Wethers sold at from 5s Gd to lis 3d ; ewes, 5s 9d to 8s 6d ; stores, 4s 3d to 5s ; lambs, 4s 9d to 9s 3d. Pigs, scarce—Porkers sold at from 15s to 275. Mr Newton King's Weekly Report. New Plymouth, January 14. Cattle—At Kahotu, on Wednesday, a fair number of cattle were yarded. Prices were about on a par with late sales. Store cows and yearlings sold at slightly better prices. Dairy cattle were hard to sell, and so were heifers of all kinds. , I quote : —Calves, 12s to 20s 6d ; yearling steers, 32s ; store cows, 38s to 425; bulls, 25s to 57s 6d ; springing heifers, £3 to £4 15s ; horse £lO ; pigs, 15s to 17s Gd.
