FLYING HANDICAP, of 30 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes ; 6 furlongs. Nomination, 15s; acceptance, 15s. To start at 12.30 p.m. 3. FARMERS' PLATE, of 20 sovs ; second horse to receive 2 sovs from the stakes ; 1 mile. Open to all horses that are not nominated for any other race at this meeting, and have never started in any race; Farmers' Plates excepted, and winners of those barred. Welter weight for age; gentlemen riders. Entrance, 20s. To start at 1 p.m. 4. OPUNAKE RACING CLUB HANDICAP, of 75 sovs; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stakes; 1 i miles. Nomination, 20s ; acceptance, 30s. To start at 2 p.m. 5. ELECTRIC STAKES, of 20 sovs ; 5 furlongs ; catch weights. Open to all horses not nominated for any other race at this meeting. Entrance, 20s. To start at 2.45 p.m. 6. WELTER HANDICAP, of 30 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes ; 7 furlongs; minimum weight, Bst 71b. Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 20s. To start at 3.15 p.m. 7. NEW YEAR STAKES HANDICAP, of 40 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes ; 1* mile. Nomination, 15s; acceptance, 20s. To start at 4 p.m. 8. POST STAKES, of 25 sovs; £ mile; minimum weight, Bst. Post entry, 20s. To start at 4.30 p.m. NOMINATIONS, ACCEPTANCES, AND GENERAL ENTRIES. NOMINATIONS for Nos. 1,2, 4,6, and 7 close at Opunake at 8 pirn, on SATURDAY, 28th November. WEIGHTS will appear about 10th December. ACCEPTANCES and GENERAL ENTRIES for Nos. 3 and 6 close at 8 p.m. on MONDAY, 21st December. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Rules and Kegulations. Nominations and Entries must be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Opunake, with fees enclosed, and name, description, age, pedigree, and performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. No entry will be received for any race except upon these conditions: —That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint; their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. The winner of any handicap flat race, after the publication of the weights, to tarry a penalty of 71bs in the Flying, Racing Club and New Year Handicaps; penalties not cumulative. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs of New Zealand. A HACK is a horse that has never won an advertised race (Hack and Hunter Races excepted), and is not nominated at time of start, and has not during the three months previous thereto, been nominated for any race (Hack and Hunter Races excepted).
