A communication was read at the Taranaki County Council on Monday from the Public Trustee, relative tj the delay ia answering the letter with regard to his liability for 1895-96 rates, for which it would, he wrote, appear he was not liable. As the matter affected other local bodies, he hoped to give an answer within a week.
Mr McGloin.: It seems to mo that the Trustee is continually warding it off; he does not soom inclined to come to the point.
The Chairman : Wo can only hurry him up again. Mr McGloin thought the eo-opera-tion of 'other local hodki should be solicited, and a tost ease be submitted to tho Magistrate. iU moved iu that direction. The resolution wis earned. —News.
