LONDON MARKETS

The Bank of New Zealand’s report on the London markets, dated the 22nd January, 1896, states!— Dairy Produce. Butter.—Although the tone of the market is perhaps not so firm as it was ten days or a fortnight ago, prices keep up remarkably well. The supplies due to arrive in the near future are not large and factories are able in consequence to keep a firm hand on anything actually on the market. Best qualities are selling at about 108 sat 112 s per cwt. Helped by the shortness of supplies, secondary sorts are commanding excellent prices and they are being cleared immediately on being landed.
