West Coast Reserves League.
A meeting of delegates a- pointed by meetings of West Coast lessees was hel'd (the Taranaki Nows report ) in the Imperial Hotel ,on Saturday afternoon. There were present - Messrs Gj. McLean (Hawera), A. Milne, C. McHardy, R. Malcolm (Opunake) J. J. Elwin, W- J. Wells, A. Lawn (Puniho), J. Hine, R. Snell (Waihi), It was stated the League had been formed, and the following officers were appointed for one year : —Chairman, Mr J. J. Elwin ; vice-chairman, Mr G. Mcllardv; hon secretary and treasurer, Mr Wells. A petition was approved of for presentation to Parliament, and Messrs Elwin, Milne, and Wells were appointed to proceed to Wellington to present the petition. Rules were adopted, and several other matters were discussed. The meeting adjourned.—Star.
