RAHOTU.
(Our own Correspondent.) Monday and Tuesday last will be remembered for awhile by most of the settlers round here on account of the fearfully rough weather experienced. On Tuesday Mr W. Mills, of this .. place, was married to Miss Grylls, of ~ Oakura. The happy couple—that is th« usual term, I believe —returned to Rahotu the same evening. From the building operations being carried on on the properties of one or two bachelors, it would appear as if w« might have more weddings in the near future. The football match, Kaitake v. Ake Ake, took place here on Thursday afternoon. Kaitake won by 9 points, 3 tries, to nil. The home team were weakened by the absense of two good men who had to be replaced by others who had not had any practise." For all that the visitors got a lively tioat of it, but were unable to make any score. Unfortunately one of the local men, Luxton, got his arm injured during the second spell, and had to re> tire. ' The Debating Club held a very cessful meeting on the 22nd, when several new members were enrolled* Next meeting takes place next Satur* day, the subject for discussion being " Prohibition."
