Land Board.

The Land Board met on Monday. Present: Messrs Kelly (in the chair), Stock, Heslop, and Roy. ACQUIRING FREEHOLD. The following applied for the freehold : P.L. sections, W. H. Eeid, 53, 54, 61, 62 and 63, Block 10, Kaupokonui. Granted. EFFECTING IMPROVEMENTS. J. Campion applied for time until next year to effect deficient improvements for a year on Section 8, Block 3, Hawera. Deferred until next meeting, Mr Campion to be informed that the Board has not received notice of the termination of the sub-lease to E. Sach. J. Dwyer applied for two years farther in which to pay off Section 13, Block 12, Kaupokonui. The applicant is to be informed that the limit of time the Board can give is to June. 1896. F. K. and H. Wagstaff were granted until May next to turn and grass the area on Sections-24 and 25, Block 14, ■Opunake. OPUNAKE. J. Aitken applied for time until June to pay arrears, of rent on Section 81, Block 11, Opunake, and asked the Board -to assist him in getting road access. He stated that nothing had been spent on the. road, although the Waimate Road Board" had received £l7 10s in " thirds " from the section. Granted. With regard to road access, Mr Aitken is to be informed that the Board will deal with it when the next proposal comes in. The Board adjourned.—News.
