London, December 13.. The West Australian Goldfields Company, Limited, shows a profit for six months of £47,000. The dividend declared is at the rate of 25 per cent for the year, and £25,000 has been carried forward. It is believed in financial circles in the city that a Tasmanian loan, with a minimum of 99 or 100, will be issued at the end of the year. The marriage of Prince Adolphus of Teck and Lady Margaret Grosvenor (daughter of the Duke of Westminster) takes place at Chester. The ceremony is to be of a brilliant character. Medical men have certified that Sir J. S. D. Thompson’s death was the result of syncope, and no inquest is necessary. The Queen was greatly grieved on hearing of his sad death. Ottawa, December 18.
The news of Sir J. S. D. Thompson’s death caused a profound sensation throughout. Canada. It is expected that Mr McKenzie Bowell. Minister of Trade and Commerce, will be summoned by the Governor-General to take charge of the Government.
