The annual report of the Longbum Freez ing Company shows a loss of £584 Os 8d on the working of the season. This, it is alleged, is owing to the low prices ruling in London for wool, tallow, pelts, tongues, kidneys, and produce. France has 84 warships in course of construction, including 12 ironclads and 24 ~cruisers, two of the latter being of the Corsair type. It is intended to spend three and a half millions in further building nasi year.
