Haweea, November 29. At Elthani, on 3rd inst, considerably more stock than advertised came forward. Prices were lower and stock hard to quit. • 'At Hawera, on 6th, there was a
large muster of cattle, and of fair sorts
Competition was slack, consequently 9 prices receded from what they have '■been ruling at for rome time. We ' quote at Eltbam—Yearlings, 85s to 40a; 2-year steers, £2 15s to £3;
yearlings heifers, 35s to 38s; 2-year ' heifers, 50s to 555; empty cows, £2 16s to £3 ; cows and calves, £3 13s to £4 ; fat cows, £4 ; bulls, £5 to £6 15s. Cattle.—At Toko., on Tuesday, the muster of stock was disappointing, only about 100 head being yarded, but as there were plenty buyers present I hope to see an improvement next time. All young cattle and heifers sold at very satisfactory »prices. Yearlings made 48s to 48s, springing heifers £4 7s 6d to £5 15s, store cows £3. At Stony River, on Wednesday, the yards were well filled. There was a good attendance, and nearly everything sold at good prices. Calves made 21s to 81s, yearlings 38s to 48s 65, 12 to 18month steers 50s to 535, 18-monthsto 2-year heifers £3 to £8 10s, springing do, £4 15s to* £5, store cows £2 7s to £3 Is.

Auckland, November 28. Horses.—The number brought forward has been over the average, and no alteration in value. A good many submitted by auction at the ""Durham Yards under fair competition. We quote—Hacks from £4 12s 6d to £l2; light draught, £5 5s to £lO 5s ; medium draught, £7 to £l2 10s; heavy draught, £9 10s to £l9 ss. Cattle.—As a good many 'have been brought forward, and a steady demand has existed for fat stock, prices were a shade in favor of the purchasers ; other classes unaltered. The Newmarket Yards were fairly filled on Tuesday, and there was a large muster at Papakura, on Wednesday. Beef sold at from 19s to £1 Is. Sheep—The Newmarket pens on Tuesday were again well filled, and prices were in favor of the purchasers. We quote—Wethers, from 10s 3d to 18s 9d; ewes, 6s 9d to 10s 6d ; lambs, in excess of requirements, sold at from 8s 9d to 10s 6d each. Pigs—Very few yarded ; sold at 3d lb, live weight.
