la a fight on the Yalu River the Chinese had 200 killed, and the Japanese lost in hilled and wounded five officers and 90 men. It is reported that on Thursday the Japanes routed a body of 3500 Chinese on the Yalu.
The Japanese force, which has landed at Seikioso or Liaotoug, menace Port Arthur.
Sixteen hundred Japanese on Wednesday crossed the Yalu and occupied a Chinese fort, expelling a small garrisoa, 20 of whom they killed. The main body intended to cross the river yesterday, and attack the Chinese before Sunday. China has issued a war loan, payable iu s : lver, of a million and a half. It will be floated in London at the rale of 7 per cent. The Chinese main army is opposing the invasion in Manchuria, and fighting is now proceeding. Fifteen hundred Japanese captured Sukocbin ferry over the Yalu. The Chinese fled at the first signs of approach. The main body of the Japanese army succeeded in crossing the Yalu on Wednesday night, unmolested. The Chinese are entrenched at Kulienchan. Shanghai, October 28. Reports from Corea state that the Japanse had a decisive victory over the Chinese at Kinerin, on the north bank of the Yalu River, defeating a force of 16,000,-and that extensive quantities of ammunition and provisions were captured. In the fight at Kulien Chanar, the Japanese lost 100 killed and wounded. Two hundred Chinese were killed, but the number of wounded is unknown. The fight lasted four hours.
