We learn that Mr Donald had a narrow escape when driving to the Oaonui Factory on Monday morning. He had a young horse in the outrigger and got jambed on the Oaonui Bridge. Both shafts of the trap were broken, and the cart, with three cans of milk was overturned. The driver was dragged along under the tray for about three chains, and how he escaped serious injury appears a miracle. Mr Morrison's milk express came to grief on Friday last (says our Rahotu correspondent)! The reins broke and the driver jumped of! the express in order to catch the horses by the head, when they ran away. They started opposite Mr Dunton’s place, and when near the Okahu Bridge the vehicle capsized, spilling the milk. During the run the express collided with the railings of a small temporary bridge over the Tangiapu Stream. The vehicle was considerably damaged, and one of the horses was cut about a bit. Mr Orchard has anew advertiemmt in this issue to which we call the-attention of our readers. He notifies that he has a large assortment of hand-painted cards, which have been executed by Mrs Orchard, whose reputation as an artist is so well known, she having received the highest eneoniums from. the leading papers for her exhibits at the various large centres in the colony. Those desirous of sending away or presenting Christmas presents to their friends would do well to look through the beautiful cards which ho has now on view before sending elsewhere. Mrs Orchard writes the names or other devices which purchasers may require on the cards in gold ink. .
