Present—Messrs McKcown (chairman), Watson, Coxhead, Mudford, Borrie, and Sheat.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The outward correspondence was read.

The following inward correspondence was read and dealt with : From settlers on Stewart Eoad; asking for improvement. No funds available.” From C. F. Wordsworth, asking for

peamlsbim to plant with tree* apart of tfio road, -bang a continuation of Hassard Street, Mauaia, Granted, subject to the approval of tbe foreman. Mr Judson interviewed the Beard with regard to being rated for both the Eli ham and Mangawbero Roads special loans. Advised to attend meeting of ratepayers. From G. F. Mason, asking for work to to be done on the road leading to his properly at Punehu. Forunan to attend.

Petition from Okaiawa settlers for improvements on Sheet Road, between Abipaiper and Hastings Road. Board cannot comply until accounts are adjusted. M. She wry applied for payment on account of excess of work done by him on tbe Mangawhero Road some years ago. Board admitted the claim, but could not allow it to be paid at present.

From F. Mills, asking for improvements on Stewart Road. From T. 0. Hodgson, regarding Bridge on Stewart Road. Cannot be attended to.**

Resolved, That a special rate of 2?,d be struck over the Auroa special rating area as security for the loan of £9OO. [ Watsou-Mudford.] Carried. Resolved, That a special rate of Ud be levied over the Rowan Road special area for the loan of £IOO. Carried. [Mudford-Borrie.] The foreman was authorised to make necessary repairs to Dingle Road and the earthwork at the concrete culvert at Palmer Road.

Mr Mudford reported that the Sheet Road settlers had subscribed £l4 towards improving tbe road, and asked for £1 for £1 from tbe Board. Sum of £lO to be granted when funds are available.

Resolved, That tenders be called for work on the northern part of Nopera Road, and any other roads in credit on the land fund. [McKeown-Mudford.] The foreman was authoiised to carry out the engineer’s agreement regarding metalling on Houi Road. [Cox-head-Mudfoid.] The following tenders w T ere accepted : Sutherland Road, forming, Sutton, 6s 6s per chain; gravelling, do., £2 7s, J. Simpson ; gravelling Glenn Beach Road, £8 7s, Simpson. No tender was received for the bridge culvert.
