Football.
NORTH ISLAND TEAM. The Selection Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union have chosen the following players to represent the North Island in the football match against New South Wales at Auckland on the 29th instant:—Full-back, Masefield (Auckland); three-quarters, A. Bayly (Taranaki); Wynyard and Roberts (Wellington); five - eigths, Carradus (Napier); half-back, Gage (Wellington); Wing forwards, Olipbant (Auckland) and W. Bayly (Taranaki); forwards, Murray and McKenzie (Auckland), Poynter (Gisborne), Cockroft (Napier), Lambie and D. Hughes (Taranaki), and Watson (Wairarapa). A match takes place to-morrow at Opunake between the Ake Ake Club and Opunake. The following will represent the latter:—Full back, Callender three-quarters, A. Good, H. Good, and Hohaia; halves, Forsyth, Brewer, and T. Carter; forwards, W. Lambie, Williscroft, J. Hickey, Humphries (2) Dixon, O’Brien, and F. Carter. The team to meet at Middleton’s hotel at 2.80 to make final arrangements.
