HNirl and Good’s Rsport. Manaia, August 21. We held an unreserved clearing sale for Mr Greig on the Rowan Road, on ' the 9th, when we quote : Dairy cows from £7 10s to £7 ss; backward cows, £4 ; weaners up to 375. At the Kaponga fortnightly sale on the 10th there was a large entry of stock, paincq ally dairy cows and heifers and young stock. We quote : Dairy cows from £4 to £6 15s ; backward, £3 10s to £8 15s; springing heifers, £4 to £5 ss; 2-year-old heifers, heifers, 48s to 50s; yearlings, 40s to 435; weaners, 80s to 89s; small calves, 14s 6d ; 18-months to 2-year-old steers, £8 6s. At Mr F. C. Richmond’s unreserved clearing sale on the Eltham Road, on the 11th, cows being in poor condition brought very low prices. Calves, 27s ; Cows up to £4 4s. At Mr Hick’s sale, Manaia Road, on Monday the 18th, as the cows were really first-class, bidding was keen. We quote: Dairy cows from £7 7s 6d to £10; store cows, £2 12s 6d to £3 10s ; quiet heifers, £3 7s 6d to £5 12s 6d; 2£-years old steers, £4 ss; weaners, 80s to 37s 6d ; bull, £B. The dairy cows averaged £8 4s. At our usual fortnightly Manaia sale there was a good muster of stock, and all, with the exception of a few, changing hands before leaving the yards. We quote: 3-year bullocks, * £4 14s 6d to £4 15s 6d; steers, £4 to £4 ss; 20-month to 2-year-old steers. £8 to £8 10s; 18month steers, £2 15s to £8; yearlings, 445; store cows, £8 to £8 ss; 2-year-old heifers 50s; dairy cows up to £5 7s 6d. Sheep.—Old ewes, 4s sd. At Mr Frethey’s unreserved clearing sale on the Manaia Road on the 16th, notwithstanding the heavy downpour of rain there was a very large attendance and bidding was particularly brisk. We quote; cows from £4 15s to £9 103; store cows, £3 to £3 7s 6d ; cows and calves, £4 ss; yearlings, 465; cows up to £3 14s 6d ; cows and heifers together averaged £6 13s 6d. The Otakeho monthly sale was held on the 17th. when a fair entry of stock came forward. We quote: 2-year-old steers, £3 15s 6d ; store cows, £8 to £3 4s; dairy cows, £4 to £7; yearling steers, £2 6s 9d; weaners, 35s ; woolly lambs, extra good, 10s 3d.
