The return football match between the Opunake and Pihama schoolboys was played in Opunake on Saturday last, and resulted in a win for the home team by 18 to nil. Tries were obtained by Carter (2), King, and Higgius. For Pihama, S. and R. Forsyth and Pettigrew played well. At the conclusion of the above match The Opunake Juniors met and defeated the Rahotu 2nd by 10 to 3. The Opunake team included Forsyth and W. Lambie, while Rahotu played with some of their first fifteen. Tries were obtained by Humphries and Lambie, and Hill scored for the losers. The match between Rahotu aud Waimate fell through, and a scratch game was played instead between sides picked by J. Young and A. Lusk, the latter team eventually winning by 13 to nil. Tries were obtained by H. Good£2), and Wagstaff. ■Sm return match between the Opunake and Otakeho Juniors is to be played on the ground of the former on Saturday next.
