Messrs Budge and Good's Report. Manaia, July 31. At Otakeho, on the 20th inst., a large number of cattle came forward, all with the exception of two lots changing hands before leaving the yards. We quote—Four-year-old bullocks (not prime), £5 19s; light weight butchers' cattle, £4 19s to £5 3s 6d ; fat cows, £4 Is to £4 5s ; 2$ to 3-year-old steers, £4 5s to £4 8s 6d ; 18month to 2-year-old steers, £3 10s; 12-month steers, £2 12s Gd; good calves, 36s to 39s ; small, 20s to 265; titore cows, £8 to £3 7s 6d; 2£-year run heifers, £2 12s 6d to £2 15s; dairy cows, £4 5s to £6 2s 6d ; heifers, M to £4 18s. At Kaponga a large entry of cattle came forward, principally dairy cattle and young stock, the latter not selling eo well as usual, but for yearlings and weaners there was a ready sale. We quote— steers, £4 ; 15momh steers, £2l6s; cows and calves, £3 10s to £4 2s 6d ; dairy cows, £4 10s to £6 ; forward heifers, £4 10s to £5 12s 6d; backward heifers, £3 15a to £4 2s 6d ; 18-month heifers, £3 Is ; yearling steers, 49s 6d; mixed, 46s 6d. We held our Manaia fortnightly sale on the 30th inst., when the yards were filled with stock, many more coming forward tban were advertised.
