Fire Brigade.
A fall meeting of the members was held on Thursday evening in the Town Hall. Mr J. Stewart presided. Besblved, That Mr H. H. Beccombe be Secretary. Resolved, That Mr J. Stewart be appointed Captain. Messrs Des Forges and A. Elgar vrere appointed foremen of No. 1 and 2 companies respectively. Resolved, That officers be appointed for twelve months. Mr A. Elgar presented the corps with twelve buckets, and Mr Des Forges undertook to paint the same. Resolved, That Messrs O'Brien and Brewer be appointed a committee together with the officers; three to form a quorum. Resolved, That members wishing to join in future be ballotted for. Mr H. H. Seccombe offered them the use of a ropm to hold their meetings in in the meantime. The next meeting was fixed for Monday, August 6th.
