OAONUI.

(Ouu own Correspondent.)

A meeting of milk suppliers was held on Saturday, the 21st insfc., and the following resolution was carried : " That Mr Malcolm write to Mr J. C. George, asking him to state and forward a reply to the proposals submitted to him by the milk suppliers, at a meeting held on the 25th of last month, the proposer ami seconder being Messrs Morrison and O'Korke." Before the above was passed Mr Morrison related that Mr Georg-3 had asked him and Mr Dunton to inform the suppliers, but during discussion it was pointed out that Mr Malcolm had acted as chairman at the meeting. When they met Mr J. 0. George on the 25th ult. he (Mr George) took down the proposal submitted to him, remarking that he would lay them before his partners, and inform tlis suppliers. The meeting did not consider Mr George had treated the suppliers quite right, as they thought ho should have replied to Mr Ma'colm as representative of them, not send verbal messages by any one or two suppliers, as if Mr George would reply in writing there was no doubt of any mistakes aiibing, whi'e witli verbal messages there may be. Mr Morrison brought forward the matter of publicity being given of the.~e meetings, and as this was not a private one it would be as well if circulated. Every one was unanimous that if Mr George had rep'ied in writing it would have been a more business-like transaction. There seems to be many enquiries what these suppliers arc about to do from outsiders, as it has b cu asserted that they have accepted terms for the ensuing year, which has not been done.
