Opunake Musical Society.

A meeting was held on Wednesday evening to consider the advisability of endeavoring to form a vocal find instrumental musical society. Mr Hutchens occupied the chair. It was resolved, That those vocalists who are desirous of joining a musical society bo requested to combine with the string band and form a society to be called the Opunake Musical Society. The subscription to be 10s; ladies free. Mr Hutchtns was appointed conductor, and Mr E. C. Raikes secretary and treasurer. Resolved, That the Chairman of the Town Board be interviewed to see on what terms the hall could be procured for practice in. Resolved, That the Society gives two concerts per nnnnm. Resolved, That a 'cello be procured.Messrs Markham and Lloyd agreed to defray the in the meantime so as to procure the instrument without delay.
