WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
WAIOTAHI GARDEN CIRCLE The Waiotahi Garden Circle met recently at Mrs, J. M, Scott’s home. The weather was fine and much time was spent in the pretty garden. Plants and bulbs were exchanged and arrangements made for the display of “Flowers of the Nations” on International Day at the institute. The competitions were judged by Mr. Serjeant, a visitor from Auckland, and Mrs. G. Serjeant, and resulted as follows: Jazz Bowl: Mrs. L. V. Looney. 1. Best Two Shrubs: Mrs. Watson 1, Airs. L. V, Looney 2. Best Bloom: Mrs. Clayton 1, Airs. Du Pontet 2. A dainty afternoon tea was enjoyed and a vote of thanks to the hostess concluded a very pleasant afternoon.
