FORTNIGHTLY PIG SALE PRICES REMAIN FIRM The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows on the fortnightly pig sale held at the .saleyards yesterday:— We had a large entry of pigs in all classes, baconer pens being full. Prices remain very firm at late rates. Demand for young pigs was unsatisfied. Our top price was £4 Is. for a nice line of baconcrs from Mr. Dave Morrison. Prices realised were :
Heavy prime baconcrs, £3 18s to £4 4s; heavy baconcrs, £3 10s to £3 16s ; light baconers, £3 to £3 10s ; heavy porkers, £2 12s to £2 18s; light porkers, £2 5s to £2 10s; good stores, 36s to £2; slips, 30s to 355; largo weaners, 28s to 30s; small weauers, 28s to 30s; choppers, £2 7s to £3 4s. Tho next sale will be held on Monday, lltli. November.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company Limited report as follows: — V There'was a .medium yarding of all classes of pigs, baconcrs predominating. Few stores came forward and met with keen competition. Prices- realised were :
Heavy baconers, £3 16s to £4 2s; light baconers, £3 2s to £3 15s; porkers, £2 19s; stores; £2 2s to £2 15s; weaners, 17s to 34s Cd.
