SEASON OPENS LABOUR DAY T W ELV E COM PETTTOItS ■v Good enterics have been received for the first race of thq season on Labour Day, commencing at 2 pan. A new course has been marked out and give spectators a full view of the entire race, the vantago point being yolkner Island. Much interest’is being taken in the various boats as some have changed sails and owners, and there will be some new boats competing. All boats are now cither in the water or ready for launching this week-end.

The following are the entries and handicaps:— * Hopalong (Carruthcrs), Opah (Chatlield), Leilani (Lanncr), Q.T. (E. Salt), all scratch; Popcyc'(C, Brownie) 3 min. ;Si.lver Wings (Talbot) 7 min.; Manene (Hill) 8 min.; Kiwi (Palmer) 8 min.; Flying Cloud (Peagram) 10 min.; Marie (Hercwini) 10 min. ; Alert (Kelly) 20 min.; Robin (Salt, senr.) 30 min.. The limit boat starts at 2 p.m. and tiier scratch boats at 2.30 p.m., the handicaps being given at the start of the race.
