BOWLING
THE CITIZENS’ CLUB THE OPENING DAY Perfect bowling weather favoured the opening day ox the Citizens’ howling Club on {Saturday, when there was a record attendance, including visitors from Taneatua, Whakatane and the Epsom Club. The green was in excellent order and last. The 1940-41 bowling season was officially declared open by the president, Mr. C. Tabb, who extended a hearty welcome to the visitors and club bowlers. Despite the prevailing conditions he felt the club would have a good season with maiiy enjoyable games. During the afternoon many enjoyable games were played and at the conclusion, Mr. 11. G. Peeves, president of the Opotiki Club thanked thd Citizens’ Club for the very pleasant afternoon.
