TOLL OF SHIPPING
PEAK WEEK OF WAR INTENSIFIED CAMPAIGN (News by Cable.) LONDON, Oct. 2. Nearly thrice tho average, Britain’s shipping losses in the week ending on September 22-23, 19 ships totalling 137,000 tons, were the highest since the outbreak of the war. The losses were principally duo to the intensified activity of Üboats before the arrival of the United States destroyers.
