PROVISION AT OPOTIKI

AN EARLY COMMENCEMENT

The following advice lias been received from Mx A. G. Hultquist, M.P. for the Bay of Plenty, from the Hon. F. Jones, Postmaster-General

You will be interested to learn that alterations and additions are to be made to the post-office building .at Opotiki. The proposals include the addition of a telephone-exchange, an operating room and a ladies’-retiring room and the conversion of the present telephone-exchange room .to a cloak-room. A mail landing will also be provided.

The Public Works Department is preparing the final working-plans, and it is anticipated that tenders for the work will shortly be called. I will inform you when a contract has been arranged. * '
