WAIOTAH! MONTHLY MEETING

The monthly meeting of the AA’a iota hi Women’s Institute was held in the AVaiotalii Hall on lltli. Alav. Business was dealt with, and being “Alembers’ Day” the chair was taken by Aliss H. Eason. The roll, call “AA'liat I would do if given £5”, caused much amusement. A golden thread talk on the Alount, Tauranga, -was given by Aliss H. Eason. An Irish jig and tap dancing was given by Aliss Alarjcvie Alead, a visitor from Hamilton, and was very much enjoyed. A “flower wedding” competition was tied for by Alesdames Smith, "Watson, Logan and Moore. A song was rendered by Aliss AI. Du Pontet and a mystery parcel was handed found to the committee. Community singing was enjoyed by all. Airs 11. Hedley of Otara. very jkindly judged the. quilting competition and explained the points to watch in good quilting. Prizes for the two divisions, hand and machinequilting, were won by Airs R. Looney and Airs D. C. Forbes, respectively. Other competitions for the afternoon were as follows

Best bowl of chrysanthemums : Aliss B. Du Pontet 1, Aliss AVhite 2. Best bloom, Aliss B. Du Pontet 1, Airs Cunningham 2.

Best vegetable: Aliss M. Du Pontet 1. Airs .T Burke 2.

Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, AJrs R. Du Pontet and Aliss AI. Alartin.

The singing of the National Anthem concluded the meeting.
