WEDDING.

We have much pleasure in recording the union by marriage of the families of two of the oldest Oxford identities (viz) Those of Mr William Paget, and Mr Edward Youngman. The names of the happy pair who have been the means of consummating this event are Miss Clara Paget and Mr William Youngman, who were married by the Rev. Mr Garbett at St. Mary's Church West Oxford, on Wednesday 81st. inst. Of course there was a largo crowd at the Church to witness the ceremony because the parents of both bride and bridegroom had been so long known •and so universally regarded as valued, colonists of the right type,' and it was; only natural that friends from far and; near should muster up and give expression to their hopes that the samej measure of happiness and prosperity j should attend the future career of the ; happy couple as have apparently been enjoyed by their parents. The bridesmaids were the Missea Annie and Ella Paget and Miss Elizabeth Youngman. The head dre?s of the bride was in the usual orthodox custom of veil and orange blossoms,

and the dress of figured cre"am silk was much admired. The maids were very neatly- and becomingly, dressed, and appeared to be quite conscious of the high honor conferred upon them. The presents to the bride were very numerous ; They were both useful ajnd ornamental, and of just the type that would make a young couple's hearts glad tn . furnishing a new home, and certainly reflected great credit upon the taste and good isense of the, donors. After the ceremony the party drove to the bride's parents, where a sumptuous luncheon had been provided} and the usual honors of dividing the bride cake, and performing all the usual customs of feasting and health drinking were performed. lu? the .evening, a host of friends responded to the invitations of the : father of the bride, and . wer^ entertained with music and dancing, to an early hour the. ne^t-. morning. The party were a most delightful one, tbe bride's family doing their- utmost to minister to the pleasure of their guestsr' and in which effort we are pleased, to say they were most successful.
