A NEW- SCHEME.

Mr E. F. Buckworth, of .Katikati. m. a letter to the Auckland Star propounds a scheme for the disposal of the various properties held by the bank of New Zealand. He says: " Make one big lottery of the Bank estates. As it would conae under the Lotteries Act, let the Government take the matter up m earnest and sanction an Act giving the bank power to carry out my plan. Let a sketch map of New Zealand be prepared, showing the situation and area of the different estates, duly numbered. This map should be attached to a pamphlet to circulate all over the globe, giring full particulars of each estate and every prize off red. Give a full account of every property separately, stating the quality and physical features of the land ; let each property be cut into sections of various sizes, and the stock m each estate be divided as thought most advantageous. Apart from the enormous gain to the Company the scheme would throw employment to surveyors, auctioneers, carpenters, ironmongers, and working men through increased ownership, whilst the Banks would gain many new clients. Let it be understood my plan embraces the whole of the Bank's landed estates, to be formed into one lottery. Let each share be £1, so as to give every body, poor or rich, a chance of acquiring a good prize. "
