MEDICAL JOTTINGS.

In the state of New York, during 1893 about 20,000 cattle were examined by the State Veterinary Inspectors and 686 cattle were found infected with Tuberculosis. Dr Murrell ( London ) gives the following analysis of St Jacob's oil: — Turpentine with traces of camphor 82-407 per cent, Ether 10*000 per cent, Alcohol s*ooo per cent, Carbolic acid 2*olß per cent, Capsicum 400 percent. Aconite' l3 per cent, also a small quantity of origanum for scenting purposes. Messrs Jabcz Monro & Co.

(London) state that the drugs contained in a 2/6 bottle would cost between 2d and Bd.
