THE PLAINS SCHOOL.
The annual meeting of householders was held on Monday night to elect a Committee. Mr Sayers was elected chairman for tho evening. The minutes of last annual meeting were read and adopted. The Committee's annual report shewed tliat seven meetings had been held during the year, and the piinciple works carried out by the Committee were, " the. ejection of a swing,' stand for horses, forms for use of child-
ren outside the school, alteration of fireplace and tree planting. The report also stated that both the Inspector's examination report and the Inspection report on the school were very satisfactory. The" financial part of the report shewed that the total receipts of the year amounted to .6117 18s 9d and expenditure £116 ls 7d. leaving a balance of £1 16s lOd. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year, Messrs H. Fntcb; H. Lassen, D. Hawke, J. Scholfield and A. Sayers. Mr Sayers was elected chairman of Committee.
