" Observer" Office, Friday Evening. There i^ very little alteration m values of grain. Wheat is slightly firmer, and finds a steadier market at former quotations. Oats have not improved m price, and ; holders m this Province are not disposed to sell at present rates. As the Southern stocks are getting very small, it is anticipated that there will be a better market later on at improved prices. There was a very large entry of sheep at the Addington saleyards on Wednesday last. Store sheep had a ready sale at slightly enhanced values, and prime fat sheep maintained the prices of last week, despite the tall m the price of frozen mutton m the London market. There was a very large entry of lambs, which sold freely at prices ranging from 7s to 13s. Fat cattle hardly maintained the prices of last week, though one very prime lot brought as high as 25s per lOOlbn. The general run of the market brought from 19s to 21s. In store cattle there was a large entry, but prices were very low and very discouraging to cattle breeders. We notice that the Dunedin butchers have raised the price of beef and mutton a penny per pound.
