Austria and Germany produced most of our fabric gloves before the war. It is considered now that Britain has gained this tiade permanently. As to leather gloves, this industry will be small until the shortage of leather is relieved. The Rev. S. C. Tiokell, vicar of Staunton - cum - Hellaby, Rotherham, who is not a supporter of the prevailing fashion to imprison animals and birds in zoological gardens for the delight and amusement of the public, writes:—"The Zoo has succeeded in obtaining the largest condor ever caught, 10 feet wing span.
