SPORTS COMMITTEE.
At a meeting ot (the commitiee ot sports to Queen Carnival held at Paeroa on Saturday, the following were present: —Messrs Fielder (chair), Brenan, Quick, Vuglar, Wa.ddingham, Moore, Byrne, Spinks, Brown, Neil, and Bush.
The following officers were appointed
—Judges, Messrs Poland and Vuglar; starter, Mr Fielder; handicappers, Messrs Fielder and Moore; timekeeper, Mr Brown j gatekeepers, Messrs Waddinghatn, Spinks, and Turner; call stevvaid, Mr E. Moore.
Miniature.Rifle Range.:• — Mr ; Wrhe undertook the looking after ot this, w^., Golf Club Tournament. — Arrange merits were left in {he hands Cot the President and Secretary. '.-. .-f
Marshal,—Messrs Andrew^ anji Dunlop were appointed to marshal the pro cession, the Sports Committee to arrange order of procession. ■'..
The Public School and Convent
children are to be invited to take part in the procession and purchase tickets of admission beforehand. ■". •
The tent is to be fixed by-Messrs Waddingham and Spinks.
Mr Vuglar undertook to supply all milk; required, and also undertook'rtq
interview the business people of Karangahake with a view to getting donations
of small goods and tea. : It was decided to retail the butter donated by the butter factory at the jumple stall at is 6d per Ib. r >
Messrs Neil and Graves were added
to the committee.
